Senior Nursing Operations Manager

We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Nursing Operations Manager to lead and supervise our team of nursing professionals within a specialty pharmacy environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that our nursing staff and nurse leaders deliver outstanding telephonic patient care, with a focus on medication adherence, adverse event screening and reporting, and mitigation strategies. The Senior Nursing Operations Manager will collaborate with internal senior leadership, external biopharma partners, and prescribing physicians to uphold high standards of patient care and compliance.Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities that effectively inspire team members to deliver exceptional customer service. Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the nursing team. Supervise, train, evaluate, and mentor nurse managers, ensuring they effectively guide their respective teams. Cultivate a collaborative and supportive work atmosphere that promotes professional growth and development. Assist with staffing models, budgeting, and workforce planning. Develop programs, team enhancements, and workflows to implement changes across functional areas. Propel clinical innovation to ensure a continuous pipeline of new services and patient-centered solutions.
- Patient Care Oversight: Ensure the nursing team conducts timely and compliant outreach calls to patients, in accordance with manufacturer contracts and accreditation standards. Monitor patient interactions to guarantee high-quality care and adherence to clinical protocols. Collaborate with the internal biopharma-facing team and clinical oversight committee to establish and implement protocols for patient care calls, adverse event screening, and mitigation.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Participate in and assist with leading the clinical oversight committee and quality management committee. Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulatory and accreditation standards. Ensure all patient interactions are documented accurately and in compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. Conduct regular audits and quality assessments to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary contact for internal senior leadership, providing regular updates and reports on team performance and patient outcomes. Collaborate with external biopharma partners to ensure alignment with their requirements and expectations. Provide strategic insights to biopharma clients to enhance patient programs, including participating in business reviews to understand patient needs and offering thoughtful guidance on potential solutions. Work with prescribing physicians to facilitate seamless patient care and communication.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the nursing team. Utilize data analytics and metrics to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor team performance, accuracy, patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Manage resource allocation and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and timely patient follow-ups.
Minimum Requirements
9+ years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted state licensure.
- OCN certification preferred.
Critical Skills
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of nurses, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, interpersonal, and planning/execution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of nursing regulations, accreditation requirements related to patient care and medication management, and operational/business processes.
- Ability to identify development areas to creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges.
- Capability to obtain additional state licensures as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a specialty pharmacy or telephonic nursing environment is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of previous oncology and/or rare diseases experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in Pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting preferred.
- Experience interacting with biopharma preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- A significant portion of time will be spent performing computer-based work.
- This is a hybrid position with office days required.

Base Pay Range for this position: $84,300 - $140,500
