About the Role

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and implementing milieu treatment, collaborating with the nurse therapist to determine a treatment approach, and providing individual counseling focused on treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and provide psychiatric care to patients of all ages, including adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Collaborate with the nurse therapist to determine a milieu treatment approach and participate in milieu therapy for patients on an individual or group basis.
  • Administer initial psychological assessments and provide consistent individual counseling focused on treatment goals during hospitalization.
  • Participate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, sharing information and participating in the formulation of treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and implement various aspects of the milieu environment to provide a therapeutic experience for patients.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to determine whether a patient represents a risk to themselves and/or others.
  • Provide supportive care to patients, including participating in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities.
  • Record all appropriate information on patient charts and prepare regular reports describing each patient's mental status and functioning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
  • BLS required.
