Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Systems Specialist to join our team during a significant digital transformation. This role will focus on leveraging data and technology to enhance client services and deliver innovative legal solutions. As one of the largest law firms in the U.S., we are excited to welcome a candidate who is ready to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in all upgrades and enhancements of Aderant Expert and related systems, including conducting regression testing, implementing modifications, creating new tables, and generating reports.
  • Collaborate with finance team leaders to manage Aderant backend system processes and modifications/releases, ensuring thorough test plans, change control, and process documentation.
  • Oversee the month-end closing procedures, including prebill generation, and provide on-call support to ensure a smooth and timely monthly system close.
  • Engage in extensive system testing of financial processes to ensure reliability and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with internal JL Business Services teams, focusing on financial processes.
  • Lead the financial systems team in identifying improvement opportunities and recommending changes to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Identify and prioritize areas for improvement to boost productivity, reporting, and processes across the firm.
  • Coordinate efforts with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Aderant Expert, including administration and configuration, preferably within a large law firm environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in SQL and T-SQL programming.
  • Familiarity with Intapp products is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, firm leaders, and technical staff.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to identify and implement solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Understanding of core accounting principles related to the management, customization, and troubleshooting of Aderant Expert.
  • Ability to customize and provide technical support for Aderant and other financial applications.
  • Knowledge of ETL data flows and data warehousing.
  • Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Educational Background
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field.
