About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Events Manager to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a Special Events Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our catering functions, coordinating with the sales and culinary teams, and ensuring that all catering services exceed guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage in-house catering facilities and daily operations
  • Coordinate with catering sales and culinary teams
  • Ensure all catering services meet high standards
  • Present Levy catering services to guests in a professional manner
  • Develop location-specific food and wine knowledge
  • Initiate contact with clients to secure food and beverage selections
  • Hold team accountable to steps of service
  • Ensure show quality standards are maintained
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and guests
  • Regularly obtain feedback to improve operations
  • Support and communicate Company initiatives
  • Respond to departmental guest service issues
  • Execute menus, promotions, and programs as outlined by the Director of Catering
  • Achieve daily sales and assigned cost goals
  • Achieve assigned budget goals
  • Employ good safety and sanitation practices
  • Follow responsible alcohol service policies
  • Execute required daily reporting
  • Complete required department reports and comply with month-end closing
  • Ensure team members adhere to Levy Company guidelines
  • Ensure continual process of revenue development
  • Promote sale of profitable Levy services
  • Prepare account forecasts and analysis of group sales
  • Ensure complete billing for client services and receipt of payments
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback
  • Promote cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings to ensure open communication
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop team members according to Levy guidelines
  • Display positive attitude towards team members

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a food and beverage operational position
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management preferred
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
