Event Server Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Event Server to join our team at 21c Museum Hotels. As an Event Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth execution of events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Event Captain and Event Manager to deliver exceptional event experiences.
  • Execute setup and teardown of events according to the BEO Request sheet and Event Captain's instructions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests, including those attending events and those staying in the hotel or restaurant.
  • Take orders, serve food and drinks, and clear tables as needed.
  • Follow the steps of service for each specific type of event.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of procedures, terminology, and techniques used in the B&C department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of ingredients of all food and beverage items served and available for the function.
  • Stay up-to-date on hours, features, and services offered by 21c Museum Hotels.
  • Exhibit a positive, proactive, and motivated attitude in all situations.
  • Work effectively in a team for large events and independently for smaller meetings.
  • Report to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Responsibility, dependability, and punctuality.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Clean and professional appearance.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for all things 21c.
  • Beverage knowledge, particularly spirits, beer, wine, and Bourbon.
  • Pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to carry a full cocktail tray comfortably.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

This is a part-time position with no remote work options.
