This position aims to enhance access to resources and facilitate training opportunities within American Indian reservations. The focus is on emergency response and preparedness to mitigate disaster vulnerabilities in tribal communities. Key responsibilities include executing partner collaboration services, managing Long Term Solutions (LTS) projects, and developing integrated training programs, which encompass assessment, action plan formulation, facilitation, tracking, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of PWNA's service offerings, including LTS and Materials Services (MS), and the challenges these programs address for tribal partners.
- Engage with team members, partners, contractors, and vendors by embodying Indigenous values such as Respect, Wisdom, Generosity, and Humility.
- Attract, retain, and inspire partner programs while addressing their concerns and needs without overextending PWNA's resources.
- Present information clearly, respond to inquiries, and demonstrate strong skills in building partnerships.
- Implement current and future LTS projects in alignment with PWNA's mission and vision, as well as the goals and objectives of relevant grantors and funders, adhering to PWNA documentation, logic models, and strategic planning processes.
- Organize, facilitate, and lead focus or collaborative groups in selected reservations and regions.
- Provide leadership and coordination for collaborative services and training, emphasizing attention to detail and organization.
- Identify and coordinate training with both on-reservation and off-reservation institutions, recruiting trainers with substantial tribal knowledge and understanding of adult learning styles.
- Assess the development needs of partners and funders, effectively matching training modalities to their requests.
- Monitor collaborative and training progress, following up with project funders or program partners to ensure the successful completion of action plans.
- Thoroughly communicate all online training, institutional training, and online library resources to project funders or program partners.
- Design, develop, and manage incentive and leadership training programs to promote self-determination within reservations.
- Collaborate with grants or project funders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in service activities as required.
- Monitor, report, and manage expenses effectively.
- Provide necessary reports and supporting documentation to the Program Manager of LTS/Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager/Director.
Work Environment:
- Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- Weekend work may occasionally be necessary to accommodate partners' schedules.
- Work is conducted under the general direction of the Programs Manager/Director, with a significant portion performed independently.
- Extensive travel is required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in networking, facilitation management, or community development.
- Experience working on American Indian reservations is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in writing and verbally before groups.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting budgets, with strong general mathematical skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and listening skills.
Creative Thinking:
Ability to demonstrate original thinking, resourcefulness in meeting challenges, and an aptitude for identifying and seizing opportunities while presenting ideas engagingly.
Business Acumen:
Understand the business implications of decisions, demonstrate a focus on profitability, possess knowledge of competitive landscapes, and align with organizational and grantor/funder strategic goals.
Team Collaboration:
Balance individual and team responsibilities, welcome feedback, contribute to a positive team atmosphere, and provide flexibility to support one another as project needs arise.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and database applications for accounting, human resources/payroll, and project management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, technology, equipment, and techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Project and case management skills from assessment through implementation.
- Support an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach in partnerships.
Instructor/Trainer:
Capable of leading and assisting in capacity-building activities.
Salary Range:
$49,500 - $59,000
