Rent Assistance Advocate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work closely with families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Your primary goal will be to provide them with the necessary support and resources to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Needs Assessments: Conduct thorough needs assessments with applicants to identify their strengths, needs, and goals.
- Develop Individualized Plans: Collaborate with household members to develop and implement individualized plans that address their unique needs and goals.
- Provide Supportive Services: Provide supportive services, including rent assistance coordination, housing placement, and connection to community resources.
- Monitor Progress: Regularly monitor progress and make adjustments to the individualized plans as needed.
- Collaborate with Community Resources: Establish and maintain strong relationships with community resources, including housing providers, social service agencies, and healthcare organizations.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience in case management or a related field.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in MS Office and HMIS database.
