Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach in the Outdoor Power Equipment program. As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the college's mission of providing high-quality education and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement effective instructional strategies to engage students and promote learning.
- Assist and advise students with academic matters, including course content, career concerns, and other issues.
- Research and develop skills assessments to evaluate student performance and inform instruction.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Comply with college policies and procedures regarding student testing, record keeping, and other administrative tasks.
- Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
- Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness, technology training, and other professional development opportunities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Associate's degree or equivalent may be considered based on experience and expertise).
- Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, with at least one year within five years prior to date of hire.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Mobile air conditioning experience and certification or willingness to obtain certification required.
- Motorcycle license endorsement or willingness to obtain endorsement required.
- Subject to FVTC Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- Valid Drivers License required.
Essential Aptitudes, Skills, Knowledge, and Personal Characteristics
- Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation, and collaborative techniques.
- Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
- Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
- Skilled in communications and human relations with diverse populations.
- Skilled in oral and written communications.
- Ability to effectively interact with business and industry to establish partnerships and address needs.
- Flexibility in schedule, including availability for evening and weekend assignments.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving objects for purposes of repair, set-up, installation, or relocation.
Additional Information
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.
