Division OverviewCrown's Food Division is the world's number one manufacturer of food cans. Our comprehensive range of food packaging serves various markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder, and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans, from round to bowl-shaped cans, and truly focus on excellence.
Job OverviewThe Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including month-end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and account documentation.
- Prepares General Ledger Account and Bank Reconciliation.
- Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position.
- Maintains Accounting Policy database.
- Identifies control gaps and develops/implements control procedures to resolve control deficiencies.
- Assists in preparation for internal and external audits.
- Develops financial analysis and cost accounting skills.
- Responsible for execution and coordination of physical inventory.
- Performance Management for direct reports.
- Oversees payroll and AP functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.
- Proven track record of working in a team environment with various departments.
- Experience working with an ERP system.
- Three (3) years of Plant Manufacturing experience.
- Strong PC skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Self-directed, with excellent initiative and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy.
- Self-motivated, analytical problem solver with excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Strong work ethic with ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring completion.
Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. Approximately 10% overnight travel may be required.
