Position Overview:
This role involves the transportation, removal, delivery, and collection of various hazardous waste materials from multiple client locations. The operator will be responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks.

The driver will also be skilled in operating a range of vehicles and equipment, including vacuum trucks and box trucks, as required by their licensing.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage cargo handling and secure loads, ensuring equipment readiness and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Possess familiarity with government documentation, including manifests.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections on all operated equipment and loads to guarantee safety and compliance.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation, including safe operation, goods transportation, driver's hours, and health and safety regulations.
  • Position trucks for loading or unloading, following guidance from the loading crew; verify vehicle placement and special loading equipment positioning.
  • Inspect vehicles prior to operation to confirm that all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is functioning properly.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
  • Ensure all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle service status, complying with state and federal regulations.
  • Document and maintain necessary records, including driver logbooks and manifests, using both manual and electronic methods.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, the public, and team members in both verbal and written formats.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of trucks efficiently.
  • Perform regular inspections before, during, and after deliveries to ensure secure loads.
  • Deliver products and necessary paperwork to clients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure that any debris from loading/unloading activities is cleared away.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding any customer, mechanical, or delivery issues.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid CDL B license with air brakes and tanker endorsements.
  • Certification from an accredited Truck Driving School.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Availability for weekend work and on-call duties as scheduled.

  • Physical capability to lift over 75 lbs.
