Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Membership Consultant plays a crucial role in upholding the core values and objectives of the National Fitness Center. This position primarily focuses on driving the acquisition of new memberships by engaging with potential clients through scheduled appointments and walk-ins. The consultant will assess individual fitness aspirations, provide comprehensive tours of the facility, and assist clients in selecting the membership option that aligns with their personal goals. By fostering a supportive environment, the consultant will help clients embark on their fitness journeys and encourage referrals through effective follow-up and training arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stay informed about ongoing membership sales initiatives and present them effectively to prospective clients.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all club offerings, including group fitness schedules and special programs.
  • Educate both members and guests about available services and motivate them in their fitness pursuits.
  • Welcome all visitors with a friendly demeanor, using their names whenever possible.
  • Contribute to achieving the club's monthly membership targets.
  • Prepare for tours and presentations by adhering to established procedures and utilizing the appropriate documentation.
  • Utilize the Lead Speak Management system to maintain communication with guests and members.
  • Implement all sales protocols and standard operating procedures effectively.
  • Set and achieve personal sales objectives on a daily basis.
  • Schedule a minimum of five new appointments each day, conduct two presentations, and secure one membership sale daily.
  • Engage in consistent prospecting through both internal and external outreach efforts.
  • Make 50 phone calls each workday, reaching out to both members and non-members.
  • Follow up with new members after their initial training assessment and again 14 to 30 days post-enrollment.
  • Reach out to all missed prospects within three days of their initial visit, continuing follow-up until they either join or express disinterest.
  • Send personalized thank-you notes to all new members on their enrollment day.
  • Establish a 'Business of the Week' initiative each week.
  • Maintain lead boxes by servicing them twice weekly.
  • Follow up on phone inquiries that do not result in an appointment during the initial call.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both members and potential members.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized club environment.
  • Complete a daily results worksheet, logging all tours and information calls without exception.
  • Attend all scheduled sales meetings, club gatherings, training sessions, and community outreach events as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Outgoing personality with a willingness to engage with new members and guests.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn the company’s software systems.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and courteous behavior in interactions with members and colleagues.
  • Prior sales experience is preferred, along with a strong desire to learn the company’s sales processes.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and courteously with team members, members, and guests.
  • Maintain professionalism consistently, including focus during work hours.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as required by management.
  • Passion for the fitness, health, and wellness industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Team members are frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods and may be exposed to cleaning agents or airborne particles. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided as necessary. Physical demands may include lifting, carrying, or moving items up to 25 pounds, with occasional requirements for heavier lifting.
