Job Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Project Accountant to become a vital part of our client's team. The Project Accountant will oversee the financial components of various roofing initiatives, ensuring precision in accounting records and equipping project managers with essential financial insights to facilitate project success. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in construction finance, exceptional organizational capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial elements of multiple roofing projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and assess project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Track project expenses, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to project managers and upper management.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payments to subcontractors related to projects.
  • Reconcile project accounts to maintain the accuracy of financial records.
  • Collaborate with project managers to create and uphold project timelines and schedules.
  • Assist in generating financial reports and statements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Perform regular audits of project finances to detect discrepancies and suggest corrective measures.
  • Help prepare and submit financial documentation for project bids and proposals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation during audits.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project accounting files and records.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA or CPA Track is preferred.
  • 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with roofing industry practices and terminology is advantageous.
