Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Develop and implement daily activity plans that cater to the needs and interests of students, promoting healthy lifestyles and YMCA character traits.
- Staff Supervision: Provide guidance, support, and supervision to counselors, co-teachers, and teachers, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Participation and Retention: Work closely with the Program Director to develop strategies to increase student participation and retention, maintaining high-quality programming and excellent customer service.
- Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the YMCA and school administration, fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective communication.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage daily operations, including scheduling, attendance, and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and procedures.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of procedures and systems to enhance program effectiveness.
- Marketing and Recruitment: Assist in marketing the Before School program, utilizing available resources to increase participation and meet program goals.
- Risk Management: Report incidents and accidents to the supervisor, following YMCA risk management procedures and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in formal child care curriculum and programming, with school-age experience preferred.
- Certifications: Active Florida teaching certification, certification in guidance and counseling, or a minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency, Salesforce experience a plus, and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Travel: Ability to travel within Central Florida, with a valid Florida driver's license required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, with manual dexterity to work on a computer and other equipment.
