Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this key role will oversee all development initiatives, including expanding donor base, enhancing membership, growing business partnerships, securing major gifts, and building the Annual Fund.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive advancement strategy to achieve organizational goals.
- Lead donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, building relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and institutional funders.
- Manage and evaluate staff, working effectively with high-level volunteers to meet ambitious institutional goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align fundraising efforts with overall organizational objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in fundraising and development.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising and development leadership positions within a museum, arts-related organization, or institution of higher learning.
- Proven track record of success in identifying prospects from underrepresented communities and diversifying donors.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Fluency with budgeting and financial reporting, with ability to analyze fundraising data for trends and planning.
- Belief in the role of museums, history, and culture.
