Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Events and Catering Coordination is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all events and catering services. This role includes assisting the Director of Events and Catering in managing sales communications, scheduling, training service personnel, and ensuring seamless planning, delivery, setup, and invoicing for daily events.

Key Responsibilities

In fulfilling their duties, the Senior Manager is expected to:

  • Deliver high-quality work within set deadlines, with or without direct oversight.
  • Engage professionally with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member on all projects.
  • Independently manage event planning and project management from start to finish.
  • Conduct thorough post-event evaluations to assess success, gather feedback, and identify improvement areas.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills to develop compelling event concepts that resonate with audiences.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and resilience in the face of challenges.
Operational Duties

Daily operations include:

  • Collaborating with the Events and Catering team across various locations.
  • Ensuring all client requests are processed and fulfilled to meet expectations.
  • Maintaining high standards in all Events and Catering operations.
  • Assisting in the scheduling of personnel based on business needs.
  • Managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely processing of invoices.
  • Overseeing daily reconciliation of departmental purchases.
  • Coordinating with culinary teams to plan and execute catering events.
  • Handling multiple event timelines while adhering to deadlines.
  • Efficiently accommodating last-minute client requests.
Staff Supervision and Development

The Senior Manager will also:

  • Supervise hourly Events and Catering staff, ensuring compliance with appearance standards.
  • Assist in the hiring and training processes for new team members.
  • Monitor events to ensure proper execution and delivery timelines.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff to support their professional growth.
Culinary Standards

Collaboration with the culinary team is essential to:

  • Ensure catering menu items align with sustainability commitments.
  • Standardize portion sizes for all catering functions.
  • Participate in Events and Catering functions to assess and improve practices.
Customer Engagement

As a representative of Compass Group, the Senior Manager will:

  • Exceed client expectations through exceptional service.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and stakeholders.
Financial Oversight

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising all events and catering account procedures.
