  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize gearbox lubrication systems, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
  • Conduct detailed gearbox oiling simulation to determine oiling rate in various gearbox components, including gear, bearing, spline, and other gearbox components/features in oil circuit.
  • Evaluate thermal profile determination of gearbox components and oil level dynamic change in various operating conditions, oil splashing, sloshing, and oil flooding/starvation under different driving conditions.
  • Decide passive or active lubrication options and explore other lubrication strategies to ensure optimal gearbox performance.
  • Coordinate with prototype test to validate CAE modeling and improve simulation accuracy through data analysis and iterations.
  • Assist with lubrication team for lubrication improvement and lubricant development.
Requirements
  • Experience with finite volume method CFD simulation, smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (SPH) simulation, or other lubrication simulation approaches for gearbox application.
  • Experience with multiphase CFD model creation, simulation strategy selection, post-processing, and data analysis.
  • Experience with one or more of Ansys, Altair, or GT-Suite or PreonLab lubrication-related simulation software.
  • Experience with creating and executing design validation plans for validating lubrication simulation models.
  • Working knowledge of gearbox lubrication strategy selection and gearbox/motor design and thermal management.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other data analysis software is a plus.
