Job Overview

Metis is in search of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to enhance our Member Experience team. This role is integral to our operations, and we pride ourselves on providing extensive training, development, and opportunities for career progression. This is a full-time position, with a mix of on-site and remote work. The standard working hours are from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for occasional overtime. At Metis, we prioritize the well-being of our employees. The CSR will operate under the guidance of the CSR Supervisor, focusing on delivering exceptional service to our external clients and providers.

We offer a 37.5-hour workweek (7.5-hour days) along with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes a 401(k) match, generous vacation and paid time off, and affordable health insurance for eligible employees. The hourly wage for this position is $19.00.

As a Customer Service Representative, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to a multi-line phone system as the initial point of contact for all claim-related inquiries.
  • Delivering a high standard of client service to all external clients and providers.
  • Collaborating with other departments and staff to address issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
  • Adhering to best practices to ensure compliance with company standards and policies, while strictly following industry, state, and federal regulations.
  • Keeping the CSR Supervisor updated on all activities outside established guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with all staff to foster a positive work environment.
  • Meeting all departmental performance metrics.
  • Conducting all business in accordance with company and departmental policies and procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey clear and articulate information.
  • Proficiency in understanding, speaking, and writing English to communicate professionally.
  • Public communication skills that reflect a professional image of the company to various clients and associates.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma is required; a College Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in claims handling is preferred, with experience in an administrative support role required.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation and medical billing terminology is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in a Windows operating system are required.
