Lead Culinary Manager

At Oak View Group, we're seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix.
About the JobThis is a key position that requires a high level of oversight, culinary proficiency, and operational support to ensure the smooth running of all food outlets and events. The Executive Chef will oversee the direction of the kitchen's daily activities in accordance with Oak View Group's policies and objectives.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue. They will be responsible for managing, developing, and mentoring staff of up to 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees.
The role involves controlling labor costs through effective scheduling of kitchen staff, cross-training, and development of employees. The Executive Chef must also monitor breaks and break documentation for kitchen staff and approve daily break documentation.
In addition, the Executive Chef will ensure that purchasing and preparation of all food products meet Oak View Group's standards of quality and consistency. This includes menu development, ensuring quality, consistency, and style of concept are maintained.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of up to 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees.
- Develop and implement effective control measures to achieve budgeted food percentages.
- Monitor and control labor costs through scheduling, cross-training, and employee development.
- Ensure that purchasing and preparation of all food products meet Oak View Group's standards of quality and consistency.
- Develop menus and ensure that they meet Oak View Group's standards of quality and consistency.
- Supervise line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities.
- Coordinate storage, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment.
- Arrange and manage kitchen staff skills training and development.
- Minimum 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs.
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
- Knowledge of computer software, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
- Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and paid time off.
