We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Microbiology Director at the Ohio Department of Health. As a key member of our Public Health Laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our microbiology testing services.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Manage Laboratory Staff: Oversee the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory, including supervising laboratory staff and ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations.
- Develop and Implement Laboratory Policies: Develop, implement, and enforce laboratory policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in our testing services.
- Ensure CLIA Compliance: Ensure that our laboratory is in compliance with all CLIA regulations and guidelines, including the development and implementation of quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including laboratory staff, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with industry developments, including new technologies and methodologies, and implement changes as necessary to ensure our laboratory remains at the forefront of microbiology testing.
- Qualifications: Must have a doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution and be certified by a board approved by HHS.
- Experience: Must have at least two years of laboratory experience directing or supervising high complexity testing.
- Skills: Must have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate laboratory staff.
