About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CLIA Laboratory Director to lead our Public Health Laboratory in the state of Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations, and providing scientific expertise to staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct laboratory personnel, ensuring they are competent to perform test procedures and record and report results accurately and proficiently.
  • Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and performance standards, ensuring compliance with CLIA and state regulations.
  • Oversee all laboratory testing and research activities, providing scientific expertise and guidance to staff.
  • Ensure timely review and approval of laboratory procedures, safety manuals, and proficiency testing results.
  • Develop strategic planning initiatives and ensure the laboratory is equipped to meet the needs of the public health community.
Requirements
  • Qualifications as outlined by Code of Federal Regulations 493.1443 Standard.
  • Must be certified in anatomic or clinical pathology, or both, by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology, or possess equivalent qualifications.
  • Must have at least one year of laboratory training during medical residency or at least 2 years of experience directing or supervising high complexity testing.
