Job Summary

The Underwriting Services Assistant I is a key member of our team, responsible for handling incoming and outgoing documents for the Underwriting Department. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and process incoming quote requests, reserving, rating, and assigning new business submissions.
  • Scan, index, and route underwriting documents into business workflows, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Review and update NCCI and state bureau reports to identify experience rating, merit, and risk ID changes, and coordinate with IT to resolve import system issues.
  • Prepare and mail special handling documents, adhering to strict mailing requirements and ensuring secure storage and destruction of archived documents.
  • Track and process returned mail, maintaining accurate records and communicating with stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one year of administrative experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in insurance is beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Strong typing skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in PC, Windows, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
