Position Overview

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) within the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking applications for a tenure-track role in Hospitality Management. The position is designated at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in research and instruction in areas such as Foodservice Management, Human Resources Management, Lodging Management, Service Management, or other relevant domains within hospitality management and operations. We invite applications from qualified individuals for this Assistant Professor role, with the understanding that under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may also be considered.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Hospitality Management or a closely related discipline, ideally completed by the specified timeline. A demonstrated record of excellence in research, teaching, and service within academic and professional settings is essential. Ideal candidates will have an active research agenda and should clearly articulate their future research interests and potential contributions to the field of Hospitality Management. Candidates should also exhibit the capability to publish in reputable scholarly journals.

Furthermore, candidates must show expertise or evident potential in delivering high-quality instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supported by teaching evaluations, syllabi, and similar documentation. The ability to teach in both traditional and online formats is highly desirable.
