Production Control Planner Job Description

At Dayton-Granger, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Production Control Planner to join our team. As a key member of our production process, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and analyzing production activities to ensure on-time delivery and target achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule work through various manufacturing departments to meet on-time delivery schedules and target commitments.
  • Analyze and prepare work order packages based on the master production schedule and inventory requirements.
  • Provide detailed status of work in progress, material availability, and communicate constraints to the schedule.
  • Interact with shop floor supervisors and quality control on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information regarding work order status.
  • Produce reports to accurately reflect the status of work.
  • Review manufacturing processes daily to keep order schedules up to date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in production control or purchasing with manufacturing resource planning required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word and familiarity with Oracle or an ERP system required.
  • Strong professionalism, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess eagerness to learn, and have a technical aptitude and ability to work with procurement and production teams.
