GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, the Senior Patient Care Coordinator delivers intricate patient scheduling assistance in a bustling outpatient ambulatory care environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes initial, follow-up, and multi-disciplinary patient appointments involving multiple healthcare providers.
- Coordinates and upholds the master clinical schedules for providers.
- Processes referrals for specialty appointment requests.
- Collects intake information from patients and referring physician offices.
- Arranges Radiology examinations.
- Requests and secures scans for clinical sessions, pathology reports/slides, x-rays, x-ray reports, and laboratory results.
- Schedules infusion-related services using the OptIn scheduling support system.
- Manages and triages a high volume of patient phone inquiries, employing exceptional customer service skills.
- Ensures confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provides cross-coverage for other practice staff during absences, vacations, and fluctuations in workflow, as necessary.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
