About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Dam Safety Engineer to join our East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for projects including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with hydraulic structures.
  • Prepare and perform quality reviews of other Engineers' work on deliverables such as design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on various Dam Safety Engineering projects.
  • Responsible for quality control and providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Develop engineering proposals and assist with project management tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 4 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering, including relevant experience with dams and other hydraulic structures.
  • Experience with geotechnical engineering software programs such as GeoStudio and gINT.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Ability and desire to travel to project sites, both local and remote.
  • Strong desire to learn and professional drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and effective time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states.
