Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, LLC. As a key member of our plant leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering operational targets, leading a team, and driving business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Drive safety, quality, continuous improvement, performance management, associate development, team engagement, and operating results for your assigned area.
  • Team Leadership: Build an effective team on your shift and in your area of responsibility, and manage the training strategy for both individual associates and the team.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce established policies as well as area and organizational strategies.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate materials, staffing, and resources to support line operation and changeovers.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the rest of the Area Leadership Team to create and execute the reliability strategy for your area of responsibility.
  • Associate Development: Coach operators to build their functional and leadership capabilities and to drive accountability in people safety, quality, and food safety, autonomous maintenance, and team engagement.
  • Safety and Quality: Develop, implement, and promote safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs, and initiatives. Ensure the ongoing production of safe and defect-free products consistent with the principles of Sara Lee Frozen Bakery.
  • Associate Relations: Manage associate relations issues and guide and direct the hiring, training, retraining, development, and motivation of Operations associates.
  • Technical Support: Utilize the technical resources on shift for the preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment problems, with the objective of effectively using these resources to achieve desired performance levels.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and opportunities as well as reactively lead on-shift incident resolution when operators require additional support. Prioritize, assign resources against escalated issues, and make decisions to resolve escalated issues.
  • Improvement Strategies: Participate in the implementation of improvement strategies that will help the line/area perform more effectively.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit and select associates for operations roles, and responsible to onboard associates effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in production, preferably in the food processing industry or fast-paced consumer products manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to handle difficult conversations. Strong organizational skills required. Ability to troubleshoot required. Ability to succeed in an ambiguous environment. Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams of hourly associates.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment while performing job. May be required to work in hot (up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit) for intervals of 45 minutes. May be required to work in cold and/or wet environments of a minimum of 0 degrees Fahrenheit. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to constantly stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, or pull for duration of shift, which may last up to 12 hours.
Work Schedule:

2nd shift: 1pm-9pm
