Position Summary

The Production Stream Leader (PSL) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, cost efficiency, delivery, and employee morale within designated areas of the Bakery. As a senior leader, the PSL oversees the daily operations of Production Supervisors, aligning with the Bakery's objectives to develop and communicate actionable plans that drive success. This role is highly interactive, requiring engagement and inspiration from the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide production supervisors to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
  • Uphold safety, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Assist in food safety audits as necessary.
  • Mentor supervisors and support management in achieving plant objectives.
  • Monitor ingredient, packaging, and labor costs against budget.
  • Coordinate production and logistics to meet scheduled deliveries efficiently.
  • Foster a culture of quality, safety, and teamwork across all departments.
  • Implement food production processes and compliance standards effectively.
  • Prepare and manage production and expense budgets.
  • Contribute to capital budgeting and oversee minor capital projects.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards for ingredients, materials, and labor.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Communicate goals and strategies effectively to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and accountability in all tasks.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to minimize operational losses.
  • Initiate cost-saving projects to align with bakery objectives.
  • Be flexible to work various shifts as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of autonomous and preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Must wear personal protective equipment during work.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push, or pull for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • May require climbing ladders or stairs as part of the role.
