We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grant/Contract Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert administrative support and financial grant management to facilitate the provision of services and resolve problems.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise Grant Management Center Staff: Supervise a team of 4 full-time employees and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of grant-related tasks.
- Provide Expertise on Grant/Contract Terms and Conditions: Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty members, PIs, and departmental staff for sponsored financial and HR requests and actions.
- Financial Grant Management: Provide professional administrative support and financial grant management to facilitate the provision of services and resolve problems.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, monitor expenses for allowability and allocability, and perform specialized accounting functions.
- Grant/Contract Management: Provide direct support to PIs, including reviewing proposals and budgets prior to submission and coordinating award personnel and payroll actions.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and monitor strategic plans to increase revenues for sponsored grants and contracts.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets, project expenditures, and manage recommended solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, influence stakeholders, and handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or closely related field.
- Experience: 60 months experience in business management, administration, accounting, finance, operations management, or closely related area, with 24 months of the required experience directly related to coordinating/managing sponsored grants or contracts.
- Skills: Effective communication, strong interpersonal and oral, and written communication skills; ability to influence colleagues at all levels with tact and diplomacy; solution-oriented and able to exercise sound judgment to solve problems within the scope of the position.
- Certified Research Administrator: Certification in research administration is highly desirable.
- Experience with Peoplesoft Financial System: Experience with financial systems and software is preferred.
- Grant Management Experience: Two years of grant management experience is highly desirable.
- Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
