Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Academic Advisor to join our team at the Gallogly College of Engineering's Williams Student Services Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the academic success and personal development of students in the college, as well as responding to inquiries, monitoring student progress, and maintaining student records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties of an Academic Advisor as appropriate.
  • Monitor the academic health and degree progression of assigned students, to include transcript review, enrollment tracking, and active outreach.
  • Develop a rapport of trust with assigned students.
  • Respond to communications via phone and email in a timely manner.
  • Participate in institutional retention and completion initiatives.
  • Engage in monthly PACAA meetings, councils, and committees.
  • Engage in leadership or scholarly activity to further professional advising identity.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) by fulfilling training and reporting obligations related to campus safety protocols.
  • Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 36 months experience as a full-time Academic Advisor in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in academic advising, higher education administration, student development, or counseling.
