Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) is seeking a Community Organizer to join its Agricultural Worker and Immigrant Rights Practice Group. This role will focus on building and supporting community-driven legal work in noncitizen client communities.

About the Position:
The Community Organizer will work within noncitizen communities in Montgomery County, Clark County, Allen County, and surrounding areas to identify and mobilize eligible individuals for ABLE's legal assistance. This will involve planning and carrying out events, such as legal clinics, days of action, training, and other activities, to build organizing work and community power.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with community leaders to develop campaign plans with identifiable goals and measure their success
• Effectively communicate with noncitizen community members and ally organizations through one-on-one meetings, group meetings, phone conversations, email, and digital organizing
• Synthesize information from the community to communicate to ABLE legal staff and help them develop legal strategies for community members
• Identify systemic issues impacting noncitizen communities and build noncitizen-led campaigns to address them

Requirements:
• Passionate about community organizing, movement building, and immigrant, racial, and economic justice
• Previous organizing experience is valued
• Excellent organizational and writing skills, along with computer proficiency
• Ability to relate well with clients living in poverty and those who do not speak English
• Experience working with interpreters
• Strong commitment to equal justice

Compensation and Benefits:
ABLE is committed to providing an equitable work environment, including a commitment to pay equity. The starting annual salary range for this position will likely fall between $50,600 and $59,500, depending on experience. Comprehensive fringe benefits, including health insurance, supplemental language compensation, annual leave, and paid parental leave.
