Job Summary

Sinclair Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Industrial and Systems Engineering Technology courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the field and excellent teaching skills.

About the Position The instructor will be responsible for teaching day, evening, online, and weekend courses at our downtown Dayton campus; Courseview campus in Mason, OH; Centerville campus. Pay and Benefits The starting pay for adjunct faculty is $957 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Key Responsibilities The instructor will:
  1. Teach curriculum developed by the department
  2. Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  3. Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  4. Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  5. Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs
  6. Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  7. Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  8. Maintain accurate records of student progress
  9. Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  10. Maintain confidentiality of student information
  11. Not be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements To be considered for the position, applicants must have:
  1. A minimum of an Associate's degree in the content area required
  2. A minimum of three years of working experience in the field or industry required
  3. Possession of a widely accepted credential, license, or certification in the field or industry preferred
  4. Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
  5. A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
  6. Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
  7. Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
