Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our fleet of buses. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, managing a budget for maintenance programs, and supervising a team of technicians and service workers.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct a team of technicians and service workers to ensure the maintenance of our fleet of buses.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance operations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on maintenance activities, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Manage the financial and accounting aspects of the fleet maintenance operation, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including technicians, service workers, and management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements:
  • At least three years of recent experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop similar in scope, size, and complexity.
  • Experience managing or directing 10+ employees, including technicians, service workers, and cleaners.
  • Experience working with 50+ buses within the last year.
  • Previous experience in passenger transportation or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and interface with clients, including communicating effectively in written and oral formats.
  • Technical competence with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
  • ASE or manufacturer's certifications are a plus.
  • Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including technicians, service workers, and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
  • Experience with diesel, CNG, and alternative fuels is a plus.
