About the Role:

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of our fixed route bus fleet. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, and that our fleet is properly maintained to ensure safe and reliable transportation for our passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Direct Maintenance Operations: Oversee the maintenance functions of our bus fleet, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Financial Management: Manage and control the budget for our maintenance program, ensuring that all expenses are properly accounted for and that we are operating within our means.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and manage a team of 10+ employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners.
  • Inventory Management: Track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to ensure that we have the necessary resources to maintain our fleet.
  • Work Scheduling and Prioritization: Prioritize and implement work schedules, projects, and assignments to ensure that our maintenance operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Client Interface: Manage and interface with clients to ensure that their needs are met and that we are providing the highest level of service.
  • Technical Competence: Possess technical competence with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Computer Skills: Possess computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least three (3) years of recent (within the last five (5) years) and relevant experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop similar in scope, size, and complexity, with the same or similar type of transit vehicles/equipment.
  • Education and Certifications: ASE or manufacturer's certifications a plus.
  • Technical Experience: Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Solid knowledge of managing audits, PM schedules, and experience with diesel, CNG, and alternative fuels a plus.
  • CDL Class B with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsement: Must have a CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.

What We Offer:

MV Transportation offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $120,000, depending on experience.
