LMR Technical Group is on the lookout for an Athletic Performance Consultant.

Location: Remote opportunities available

Key Responsibilities:

The Athletic Performance Consultant is tasked with delivering services aimed at minimizing the occurrence and intensity of musculoskeletal discomfort, particularly in the neck and back, while facilitating recovery from the physical demands associated with aviation.

  • Conduct regular baseline assessments of designated clients to evaluate their current fitness levels and injury risk. The findings will aid in the creation or enhancement of tailored Individualized Training Programs (ITP) and in generating reports that detail client health, program utilization, and effectiveness.
  • Perform comprehensive initial assessments for new clients, which include scientifically analyzing functional movement, muscular balance, range of motion, pain levels, and overall strength and conditioning necessary for piloting aircraft. Initial assessment results will be provided promptly.
  • Design and update Individual Training Plans (ITP): Based on both formal and informal assessments, create personalized training regimens that foster overall health and fitness while mitigating neck and back pain. These programs will encompass routine physical maintenance, pre-flight warm-ups, post-flight recovery strategies, and strength and conditioning plans in collaboration with athletic trainers.
  • Provide annual educational sessions on healthy lifestyle choices that contribute to the prevention of neck and back injuries, covering topics such as nutrition, sleep hygiene, and stress management.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in an accredited field related to exercise science, health science, or physical education.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of at least one of the following certifications:
    • CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA),
    • PES from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM),
    • SCCC or MSCC from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), or
    • SCC from the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) or equivalent.
  • Current CPR certification, including AED training.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations, ethical standards, and practice guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Skills in quality and risk management to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with elite athletic populations, particularly with Special Operations Forces (SOF) and developing sport-specific performance programs.
