We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Structural Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Ports and Marine team, you will be responsible for leading complex projects from planning to commissioning, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead marine structures and port-related projects of varying complexity, developing project work plans and overseeing their execution.
- Develop and implement engineering discipline groups equipped with up-to-date tools and innovations, technical and supervisory capabilities, and operating procedures to successfully execute projects.
- Engage in the development of designs through analysis, design, drawings, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Prepare and revise documentation through various project phases, including site plans, sections, diagrams, and details.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owners, and contractors, serving as a primary point of contact with project owners.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
- Participate in constructability reviews.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Prepare project reports and feasibility studies.
- Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client engagement.
- Assist and lead the development of proposals for port development projects.
- Oversee and manage multiple projects.
- Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable port and marine terminals standards and guidelines.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of waterfront structural systems, means and methods of construction, and industry standards.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
- Experience with STAAD software for structural finite element modeling or equivalent software packages.
- Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Participates and collaborates in project team settings and engages in creative and critical thought.
- Thorough understanding of structural engineering and port engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with project teams, owners, and clients.
- Strong project management skills, including oversight of project teams' budget and schedule performance.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering and Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 10 years of experience, including minimum 2 years in a project management role.
