  • Represent the department in negotiations with city, state, and federal agencies and prospective developers regarding public and private development proposals.
  • Manage complex planning studies, development applications, and reviews of consultant proposals.
  • Prepare official correspondence with current and potential developers, consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to guide long-term urban development goals, aligning with the City's vision and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in planning, public or business administration, law, or a related field.
  • AICP Certification preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in urban planning, economic or real estate development, or a related field.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in zoning, land use, and environmental planning, particularly in urban contexts.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, cost estimation, and financial analysis, to effectively manage project budgets and resources.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
