Position Overview:


The Heavy Equipment Technician at Amerit Fleet Solutions is tasked with the efficient repair and maintenance of robust vehicles and their corresponding aerial lift systems, generators, and various machinery to guarantee a secure and effective operation.

This position involves a balance of 50% travel to client sites and 50% workshop duties.

Core Responsibilities:
Maintain vehicle documentation and reporting both manually and digitally.

Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and related heavy machinery.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems on client equipment, alongside routine maintenance tasks.

Facilitate installations by configuring new machinery and ensuring it is accurately calibrated and ready for operation.

Execute safety evaluations of equipment and prepare necessary safety documentation.

Transport parts to and from job sites and perform the installation or removal of these components on vehicles.

Manage parts ordering.

Adhere to all relevant laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Engage with clients through necessary communication channels.

Perform additional tasks as required.

Key Qualifications and Skills:
Experience with Ditch Witch equipment is preferred.

A minimum of 3 years in diagnosing and repairing heavy construction machinery.

At least 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair.

Capability to obtain and sustain a DOT Medical Certificate (mandatory).

Ability to lift weights up to 50lbs.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL is advantageous.

Must possess personal hand tools and toolbox.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring and hydraulic schematics.

Computer Skills:
Familiarity with Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities (documentation, interaction with colleagues, supervisors, etc.).

Work Environment:
Exposure to high-traffic areas while performing job responsibilities.

Exposure to significant amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.

Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants.

Ability to maneuver and position heavy objects.

Capability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl for vehicle repairs.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
