Objective of the Role

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Specialist to join our expanding team and contribute to our customer service objectives in the field. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in heavy equipment service and support, demonstrate a commitment to safety, and have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace free from safety hazards.
  • Employ various techniques and tools to inspect, assess, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across a range of heavy equipment applications.
  • Maintain precise records and documentation on equipment and repairs to guarantee accurate billing and service logs.
  • Overhaul and test machinery or equipment to confirm operational efficiency.
  • Conduct tests on mechanical products and equipment post-repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
  • Notify the shop manager of any additional work needed on units or visible signs of damage, including out-of-service conditions and safety concerns.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles as necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by distributors to enhance technical competencies and knowledge through both in-house and external training opportunities.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a CDL B License.
  • A high school diploma and graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine/hydraulics/heavy equipment repair is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic is required.
  • Must have personal tools.
  • Experience with Volvo and/or other dealership or industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using various diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and maintenance software is preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of technical software applications with relevant industry experience is highly desired.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Physical activities include lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, with significant finger dexterity required.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Capability to operate a forklift safely.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical assessment.
  • Requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • This position involves exposure to working near moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
  • A clean driving record and valid driver's license are required.
  • This role necessitates the ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification.
  • Requires working outdoors in various climates and the potential for extended periods of sitting.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected hourly range for this Colorado position is between $32.00-$47.00 an hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
