About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at Emory University. As a key member of our Advancement and Alumni Engagement team, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts to support the Goizueta Business School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support the Goizueta Business School.
  • Solicit gifts of $100,000 to $5 million in support of the school's priorities.
  • Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations to build relationships and secure major gifts.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders to align the school's priorities with donor interests.
  • Work closely with central advancement offices to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly qualified, cultivated, and stewarded.
  • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, including case statements, brochures, solicitation letters, and gift proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and gift activity in our CRM system.
  • Communicate effectively with donors, faculty, and staff to build relationships and secure support for the Goizueta Business School.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in fundraising or a related field.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Experience working with comprehensive campaigns, alumni engagement, or in a university setting.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with effective presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
