Position Summary:

DYWIDAG is a prominent entity in the construction and infrastructure sector, collaborating with governmental bodies, asset proprietors, construction firms, and design consultancies to enhance their infrastructure initiatives. Our operations span over 50 nations globally, ensuring the safety and integrity of infrastructure on a daily basis.

The Project Engineer specializing in Post-Tensioning and Repair and Strengthening is tasked with overseeing projects related to structures such as buildings and bridges, which are serviced by DYWIDAG. This role involves preparing engineering submissions and providing technical assistance to on-site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering calculations and installation schematics for post-tensioning and reinforcement applications, including the restoration and fortification of structures like buildings, bridges, and tanks. Familiarity with carbon fiber reinforced polymer systems is advantageous.
  • Supervise and guide detailers in creating shop drawings for designated projects.
  • Engage in product innovation, testing, and certification initiatives.
  • Offer technical guidance to project managers and field teams.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and design engineering firms as necessary.
  • Execute other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Proficient understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with codes such as ACI, PTI, PCI, AASHTO, AISC, etc. is essential.
  • Experience in post-tensioning and proficiency in structural analysis and CAD software.
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation, discipline, and professionalism. Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot, identify customer needs, and possess market knowledge are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar applications.
  • PE license in any state is required; if not currently held, it should be obtained within a year.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within North America is necessary for site visits and conferences.

Physical Demands:

  • The work environment includes office settings, travel for conferences, and some site visits.
  • Regularly required to use hands for various tasks and communicate effectively.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional climbing or balancing is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to forty pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
