Job Summary:

The Clinical Head of Speech Therapy is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the assigned Speech Therapy Departments, ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirements, and serving as a clinical resource for the department in their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide human resource management and materials management for the Speech Therapy Departments
  • Ensure department productivity and compliance with external regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, management, and hospitals
  • Act as a clinical resource for the department in their area of clinical expertise
  • Ensure standards of care are consistent across the continuum
  • Provide patient care, including evaluations, treatments, and attending rounds and/or case conferences
Requirements:

Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders required

Minimum of three years of experience in medical speech pathology or rehabilitation setting required

Minimum of two years of direct supervisory/management experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluent in written and verbal English

Ability to speak clearly to gather information, hear on phone and in person

Basic computer skills, familiarity with Windows Operating Systems preferred

Good communication skills with team members, patients, and caregivers, physicians, and general public

Licensures and Certifications:

Currently licensed by the California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required

CCS-Paneled required or fulfill CCS paneling requirements within twelve months from hired date if assigned to CH
