Job Summary:

The Speech Pathologist - Advanced Patient Care Specialist provides expert care to patients, including evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, and family training. This role requires a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders and a minimum of one year of experience in a Medical Speech Pathology or Rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities include providing inpatient care as per physician's orders, supervising non-CCS paneled staff, and participating in case conferences and discharge planning meetings. The Speech Pathologist - Advanced Patient Care Specialist works closely with the program coordinator, case manager, and/or MTU/school representative to communicate and coordinate recommendations for ongoing therapy and equipment needs upon discharge.

This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure. The Speech Pathologist - Advanced Patient Care Specialist must be able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality, and think critically.

Requirements:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders
Minimum one year of experience in a Medical Speech Pathology or Rehabilitation setting
Current Speech Pathology licensure
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification and Basic Life Support certification
CCS-Paneled required if assigned to Pediatric Rehabilitation or fulfill CCS paneling requirements within twelve months from hire date
