Petroleum Supply Logistics Coordinator

Fuel is a vital component of the Army National Guard, and as a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you will ensure that our soldiers never run out. Your role will be to oversee the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products, including operating specialized pumping equipment, selecting and submitting samples for testing, and performing petroleum and water accounting activities.
Petroleum Supply Specialists are responsible for supervising and managing the operation, maintenance, and repair of fuel storage facilities and tank farms, as well as ensuring that all fuel-related operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Your advanced skills will also enable you to take on management duties, such as supervising and training other soldiers, assigning tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive and stock bulk and packaged products.
- Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to using units.
Some of the Skills You'll Learn:
- Operating airplane refueling systems and equipment.
- Planning and scheduling petroleum transport.
- Testing oil and fuels.
Helpful Skills:
- Interest in shop mechanics and business math.
- Enjoy physical work.
In addition to your military training, you will also have the opportunity to develop skills and experience that will be valuable in a civilian career with oil refineries, pipeline companies, and tanker truck and ship lines. With the Army National Guard, you will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance, as well as have the opportunity to participate in certified apprenticeship programs for some specialties in this occupation.
After completing 10 weeks of Basic Training and 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), you will be qualified to take on this role and begin your career as a Petroleum Supply Specialist. The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. With the Army National Guard, you will also have access to benefits such as paid training, a monthly paycheck, and retirement benefits for part-time service, as well as low-cost life insurance and a 401(k)-type savings plan.
