Your Role...

As a Category Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting the Accessories Team with various category initiatives, revenue strategies, and operational execution. This position involves conducting market analysis, identifying potential partnerships, and brainstorming innovative business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Assist the Accessories Team in managing category initiatives and executing revenue plans.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly forecasts, accruals, and annual budgets by generating templates, reaching out to partners, and analyzing data.
  • Collaborate with the Accessories Team, Licensees, and Legal departments to create and track merchandise contracts and manage necessary agreements.
  • Monitor product sell-in, launches, and overall performance metrics.
  • Facilitate the promotion of products through WBD's social media channels.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of Licensee contacts and product launch timelines, coordinating with various teams as needed.
  • Provide timely updates on category developments to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage sample inventory and handle internal sample requests efficiently.
  • Work alongside Product Development, Marketing, and Publicity teams to initiate collaborations and oversee projects from inception to launch.
  • Conduct market research and identify new business opportunities while developing skills to manage subcategories effectively.
  • Organize shared resources and tools for the team using platforms like Sharepoint and Box.
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials for both internal and external meetings.
  • Analyze competitive trends and industry insights to inform strategies.

Qualifications...

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the licensing industry, preferably within a licensor, vendor, retailer, or entertainment context.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required.

Skills:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the licensing industry with a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to follow directions and assist the team in executing strategic and operational plans.
  • Basic understanding of financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across various levels and formats.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in creating presentations and pitches.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment with shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Well-organized with proven follow-through abilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure.
