Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Float Pool team at United Hospital Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide high-quality patient care in coordination with licensed medical staff, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
  • Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide other patient comfort measures.
  • Assist with specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections and ensure patient safety.
  • Report necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
  • Communicate with RN regarding nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or lack of understanding of diet changes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support department operations.
  • Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior patient care experience.
