UHC Patient Care Tech Non Cert 6 South

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at UHC United Hospital Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to registered nurses immediately.
- Assist registered nurses with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
- Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide patient comfort measures.
- Assist with specimen collection and other activities assigned to patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections and ensure patient, visitor, and employee safety.
- Report necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
- Communicate with RNs regarding nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or lack of understanding of diet changes.
- Assist with administrative tasks to support department operations.
- Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Prior patient care experience.
