Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at UHC United Hospital Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
  • Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide other patient comfort measures.
  • Assist with specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections and ensure patient safety.
  • Report necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
  • Communicate with RN regarding nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or lack of understanding of diet changes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support department operations.
  • Respond to patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior patient care experience.
