Job Summary

Extension Agents are community-based professionals who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. The Extension Agent for Community Resource Development will develop, conduct, and deliver educational programs based on locally identified needs in the community, and assist with general community needs, while prioritizing the needs of underserved and minority audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs through virtual and face-to-face in all aspects of fine arts.
  • Review the needs within the Extension assigned area and support local programs with resource information.
  • Conduct outreach activities and provide volunteer training.
  • Collaborate with internal and external Extension partners to support arts programs.
  • Maintain records, clientele sign-in sheets, and submit reports as required by the Kentucky Extension Reporting System.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline related to Family & Consumer Science, to include Family Development, Human Nutrition, Consumer Economics, or any closely related field.
  • Master's degree in child development, family and consumer sciences, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in related field strongly preferred.
Working Conditions

The position requires the ability to lift large boxes up to 40 lbs, travel, work evenings and weekends, and be exposed to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

A valid driver license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required. Mileage will be reimbursed at a rate established by the university.
