Position Overview:

As a result of our ongoing expansion, TRC Field Services (FSV) is looking for experienced Field Service Engineers to support our Client Teams throughout the United States, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest regions.

With a robust team of over 200 skilled utility and industrial commissioning engineers and test technicians, TRC provides thorough, cost-effective solutions while offering premier training programs and mentorship opportunities. We are recognized as one of the leading national providers of testing and commissioning services, ensuring efficient project initiation and compliance with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply the latest industry standards and guidelines for testing and commissioning, including IEEE and NETA.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professional relationships with clients.
  • Facilitate effective communication and ensure meticulous record-keeping.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and analysis related to protection and control systems, including identifying errors and equipment malfunctions.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with other departments, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in various project meetings to discuss planning, progress, and lessons learned.
  • Identify risks associated with utility systems and develop Site Risk Assessments for high-risk activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports documenting project progress, issues, recommendations, and test results.
  • Maintain project drawing management and ensure all documentation reflects the current project status.
  • Ensure all necessary tests and commissioning activities are performed accurately and documented appropriately.
  • Assist colleagues during the commissioning and startup phases of systems and equipment.
  • Conduct formal inspections prior to energizing any equipment.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor relays and testing techniques for various equipment types.
  • Perform testing on a range of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in testing and commissioning within electric utilities or complex industrial power plants.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while also demonstrating independence and initiative.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical protection systems and the ability to analyze schematics and drawings.
  • Advanced skills in testing medium and high voltage equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with documentation policies and project management standards.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment weighing up to fifty pounds.

Compensation: Salary ranges are determined by local laws and may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.
