Job Title: Senior Director of International Media Relations

Special Olympics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of International Media Relations to lead our global media relations efforts. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive media relations strategy that showcases the impact of our work and advances our mission to end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a global media relations strategy that supports our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers across the globe.
  • Secure media coverage in top-tier outlets and publications.
  • Collaborate with our programmatic areas to develop and execute media relations plans that support their strategic objectives.
  • Provide media training and coaching to our spokespeople and staff.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to identify trends and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in media relations, with a proven track record of securing media coverage for global brands.
  • Strong understanding of global media landscapes and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
